Hayley earned her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto, and prior to that a Masters in Neurobiology and Bachelor of Medical Sciences from the University of Western Ontario. She has several years of experience providing physiotherapy services for musculoskeletal and neurological conditions, including concussion and vestibular rehabilitation

Hayley has completed courses in concussion management including Shift Level I and II Concussion Management, introductory acupuncture and several vestibular rehabilitation courses. She is also pursuing her manual therapy levels with the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy program.

Hayley is passionate about neuroscience with particular interest in concussion and vestibular rehabilitation. She is currently taking courses in Neuro-development therapy (NDT). She has helped countless clients following acute concussions, to those with persistent concussion symptoms. She believes in the importance of concussion education, return to work/learn planning, safe evaluation and progression of exertional exercises and vestibular-ocular rehabilitation techniques to aid in her client’s recovery.

Beyond the walls of the clinic Hayley has contributed to the academic world by publishing multiple research papers on various subject matters. Most recently she published a paper on the role of hypoxia on forearm muscle performance, and previously has published papers on the role of inflammation, age, and antioxidants in Alzheimer’s disease.

Hayley believes in an evidence-based and active approach to rehabilitation to help clients reach their goals. Her approach emphasizes getting at the root cause of the problem, and incorporating individualized exercise prescription, education, manual therapy and modalities as part of the treatment plan.

Outside of work Hayley enjoys leading an active lifestyle, having been a competitive swimmer most of her life, she continues to stay active swimming, running and cycling. She has also coached swimming in various capacities over the years.
